The Laboratory Scale Sorting Plant is designed to simulate a real-world industrial application, focusing on preventive maintenance, and offers time- and sensor-controlled operations.

It features augmented reality capabilities that allow for the visualization of maintenance procedures, exploded views, and data sheets.

The plant is controlled via a PLC, operated through a touch screen, and includes components like a crane for gear unit disassembly, signal lamps to indicate machine status, and continuous dosing via a hopper with a conveyor belt.

The sorting process includes separation into three size fractions and color sorting of fine materials into three color fractions using smart color sensors with IO-Link interfaces.

Multimedia teaching materials such as PDFs, CAD/STEP files, and videos are provided, and online access to the GUNT Media Center is available for further learning.
